Walter W. Ahlschlager
+++ Walter W. Alschlager was born in Chicago on July 20, 1887, the son of parents John and Louise. He was educated at the Lewis Institute, the Armour Institute and the Art Institute of Chicago. He began his practice of architecture in Chicago in 1911. Later, he was president of The Realty Trust and North Shore Development Co. Ahlschlager was prolific and successful, producing a wide range of building types in a variety of styles in cities across the country, including the Deco-styled Carew Tower in Cincinnati, the eclectic Roxy Theater in New York, the moderne Mercantile National Bank in Dallas, and his traditionally styled residential hotel projects in Chicago.
