SCULPTURE
SECURITY AND INTEGRITY
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CLEVELAND
CLEVELAND, OHIO
Henry Hering's monumenetal allegorical figures of "Security" and "Integrity" flank the main entrance of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Security is armored and wears a crown of Oak leaves. She holds a strongbox.. Integrity wears a crown of olive leaves and holds the scrolls that represent the rolls of office. The sculptures were completed in 1923. Note the black signage bands at the foot of each figure; they open to expose machine gun turrets protecting the facility from robbery.
