The PALACE OF FINE ARTS was designed by Charles Atwood for Daniel Burnham at the World's Columbian Exposition. After the Fair the building housed the Field Museum. In 1931 with renovations, funded and guided by Julius Rosenwald with architects Graham Andrerson Probst and White, and Shaw Naess Murphy, the structure became the Museum of Science and Industry.
